Retention and Success in Higher Education

The University of Tennessee at Martin will host the “Skyhawk Retention Summit” on May 22-23, 2024 on the UTM campus. The Summit will offer the opportunity to continue conversations between colleagues across different institutions in the region who are engaged in the same broad task: increasing the persistence and success of the students we enroll.

Registration and Travel

The fee for the Summit is $50 for UT employees and $100 for external guests.

Session 2: What do we mean when we talk about student success?

2:45-3:30 -
Session 3: How do we create alternative pathways to retain students who need to change programs?
Session 4: How can we help students on academic and scholarship probation get back on track?

3:30 - Break

4:00-4:45 - Session 5: How do high-impact learning activities assist in retention and how can we get more students to engage in them?
Session 6: What approaches to onboarding transfers make the greatest impact on their persistence to graduation?
