The insurance must be purchased within the policy term of June 1 to May 31 and is valid from the date of purchase up to the end of the term. A one-time purchase provides coverage for students from June through May.
To maintain coverage beyond May 31, students must purchase a new policy for the term starting June 1.

UT offers professional and general liability insurance for students in field placements, protecting against potential malpractice claims. The policy is designed to cover students for internships that are being offered by the University through a formal internship program. Liability insurance must be purchased before beginning the field experience.
This policy has the following coverages and limits:
Professional Liability
- $1,000,000 per occurrence
- $6,000,000 aggregate
General Liability
- $1,000,000 per occurrence
- $6,000,000 aggregate
