Reelfoot Lake and the surrounding aquatic and terrestrial habitats provide a great variety of research opportunities in fields such as ecology, parasitology, geology, chemistry, and many others. The field station supports such research interests by providing living accommodations, basic laboratory and field equipment, and a variety of watercraft for use on Reelfoot lake and nearby aquatic environments. If you are interested in conducting research in the Reelfoot Lake area and would like to use the facilities at RLEFS, please contact Dr. Tom Blanchard at: tblanch@utm.edu to make arrangements.
