The UTM Trombone Choir is designed to serve as an extension of the trombone studio. The aim of the group is to provide students with the opportunity to utilize skills learned in the applied studio in an ensemble environment and to cultivate performance skills through rehearsing and performing literature that provides a greater challenge than that normally encountered in traditional ensemble settings.
The Trombone Choir performs a full-length Trombone Night concert each fall, hosts a community Trombone Caroling event in the December, and partners with UTM Tuba/Euphonium studio for the Low Brass Bash concert each spring. The ensemble also serves the university and west Tennessee communities by presenting outreach performances on campus, area churches, regional schools, and other community venues.
